MEET DRAKE & NICOLE

Owners of Oahu Flower truck Drake and Nicole pose in front of thier 1970 classic volkswagon truck named Petals that they transformed into a flower truck in oahu

Drake and Nicole stumbled into the flower industry quite by accident. Drake is a PROposal photographer and planner and Nicole is a wedding officiant. They found that more and more individuals were asking for bouquets, haku leis, and floral installations for their big days and their roles hyphenated into florists.

Seeing our friends on the mainland visiting this blooming trend of flower trucks - it got their gears thinking that Oahu could use just that to add a dash of joy to the weddings, PROposals, and farmer’s markets they were already attending.

Thinking it only a distant dream - Petals came into their lives and the rest fell into place. Launching in 2024, Petals is in full bloom and ready to serve the island of Oahu one stem at a time.

It's a family affair

Meet Kristi

When Nicole's sister, Kristi Van Diver, caught wind of the flower truck - she knew she had to be part of it.

Kristi quickly took on all the multi-hyphenated roles one takes in a family business and has become an integral part of Oahu Flower Truck in addition to her career as a Tennis Coach at Punahou and 'Iolani Schools as well as a jewelry designer.

What she's most excited for: Planning out her Oahu Flower Truck florals for her upcoming Fall 2024 wedding.

Meet Julie

Drake's mom, Julie Wallace, was an immense help when they launched Petals in Spring of 2024. The craftiest woman they know - she quickly took on any and all projects that needed to be done.

Retired, she can now devote all of her time to her creative pursuits (ain't that just the goal!). You'll find her handcrafted goods being sold next to Petals or you'll find her helping you build your own bouquet when she escapes the cold of Illinois winters for the sunshine of Hawaii.
